Four days break
We were so lazy the last 4 days, just ennoying the time at Linda and Ola's place. The hours were running while we were talking about horses, dogs, horses, trainers, horses, training, horses... Time was running and we ended up every evening with late dinner 😉
Yesterday, I was watching them training their trotters. It was not so easy to take a picture.
Santano got 4 new shoes and I hope they will last to Mora at least 😉
How can I say thank you for the great time we had? I am so greatful for meeting you! Maybe we say SEE YOU instead of good bye?!?!
Today I am at Annas and Daniel's place and Santano is just making friends with three friendly trotters.

Bräcke
Yesterday, we walked from Nyhem to Bräcke. We spent one night on Camillas field. Thank you a lot.
The landscape is so beautiful and all three of us enjoyed a feet, hooves and paws bath in the lakes with sand beach. That felt pretty much like home.
We arrived in Bräcke in the afternoon and spent a wonderful evening with Carina. Today Qaanaaq and me moved to Linda, where Santano lives these days. It is really nice to meet all of you. Thank you so much.
Later on, I have the chance to watch Linda training her horse in liberty work. That will be interesting. I am looking forward to this. Hopefully, it will stop raining. 😊l

Blog without pictures 😭
After a 41 kms walk yesterday, I reached Västanede at Hilja and her family. Santano had all-you-can-eat on the field and I enjoyed some delicious Swedish pancakes 😊
Today I started the day with a museum's visit. 😉 Then we had an easy recovery walk of 16 kms thanks to Hilja, who transported our luggage in the car.
I have a great time with Elisabeth and her family in Gastjö. Qaanaaq and Santano made some new friends and I had to throw a lot of sticks to Elisabeth's fluffy lovely furball 😊
In the evening, Hilja came to exchange thd broken front shoes of Santano after Elisabeth spent the half of her afternoon trying to reach a ferrier.
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THE GREAT HOURS I COULD SPEND WITH YOU AND FOR YOUR HELP!

Summary oft the second week
Saturday, 1st July, Day 9: Vestra Vinnäset - Talvik
I managed to tidy up the tent and the fence and to prepare the horse in less than three hours. So I was ready to leave at 07:45 hrs. I went to Karin and Lars-Ocke to say good bye and they offered me a breakfast. Of course I couldn’t say no ;-) So we sat together in the sun for an hour and I left Vestra Vinnässet at 9 hrs.
During the day, I got a good advise for new hoof shoes and a place for the night. So I called Patrick and asked him for help and he did not hesitate one minute to support us. We reached Talvik at 16 hrs and Santano had a whole field on his own. Patrick and his family invited me for dinner and I felt warmly welcome and had a great evening and a good night with Qaanaaq in the tent.
Sunday, 2nd July, Day 10: Talvik – Mjöträsk
I slept so well this night and after a good cup of coffee, Patrick gave new hoof shoes to Santano, who was not willing to stand still this morning. I heart myself saying several times things like: „Normally he doesn’t behave like this“… „Normally he is calm“… But Patrick was so patient with my nervous horse, which could not wait to be on the road again. THANK YOU Patrick: for your hosting, for the nice evening with your family and for new hoof shoes!!!
We left a quarter past 10 to the Swedish outback. Forest, swamp, forest, swamp… But it is amazing, how you can still find someone in the middle of nowhere. At 17 hrs, I met Kenth, who offered us a place to stay. I built up the fence in a wild part of his garden and Qaanaaq and me slept in his guest house. Kenth prepared a tasty dinner, which I really enjoyed. THANK YOU, Kenth!!!
Monday, 4th July, Day 11: Mjöträsk - Lillån
Kenth organized the next stay for me. So I started at 8 hrs heading to Ida’s summer house. I turned right into the forest to follow a hiking trail to Lillån – a big mistake. The hiking trail crossed a swamp, which was looking fine – also for a horse to pass. Santano and me gained some experience with swamps in Finland. But suddenly, he was stuck until the belly in the mud, hardly able to move. I cannot describe how scared I was. I prayed and screamed until I thought that panic would not help at all. So I pulled him to the side and asked him to jump … three jumps … and FINALLY he was free breathing hard and stressed, but free and not injured!
The rest of the trail was a nice forest road without more „adventures“ – how boring (just joking). When reaching Storviken I called Ulla-Britt, Ida’s Mum, who guided me to Lillån, a small paradise in a forest with two Stygors and a sauna at a lake. I washed Santanos equipment, which was totally dirty from the mud adventure.
Later, the whole family came up. We went shopping and then had dinner together. It was one of these evenings that could never have ended. I fell in love with this place at the first sight. THANK YOU, IDA and Ulla-Britt!!!
Tuesday, 4th July, Day 12: Lillån – Grundforsbacken
I was in a bad mood. First, I got lost in the forest, which took me one hour. Santano was tired and I was cold. To make myself feeling a little bit better, I stopped in Morjärv at the supermarket to bye a Coke and chocolate. Nice try, but it didn’t help. At 16 hrs, I arrived at Brynolf and Gerd’s summer house and built up the fence and tent on a field while it was raining. Santano was the only one, who enjoyed the bad weather, because there were no mosquitos. THANK YOU, Brynolf and Here.
Wednesday 5th July, Day 13: Grundforsbacken – Niemisil
D32 kms in the rain. My mood was even worse than yesterday. I was wet and cold. Santano was happy. Qaanaaq just kept on going – without a waving tail.
I arrived in Niemisil in the evening and found a place with horses. I stopped and asked the man, if I could stay on his field and he needed to ask his *drag***wife. She said no. He tried to help me to find another place, but the the dragon left her hole. The wife came out and I met the first unfriendly Swedish person EVER. She shouted something that I couldn’t understand and waved with her hands like people do, when they want to get rid of a mosquito.
I went to the supermarket to ask the employees, if they know a place to stay … and met Christina, who offered her garden to Santano and her guest house to me. Wow, it was a great place to be at the river! Really beautiful. Christina and me had dinner together, I took a warm shower and then her sister came for a visit with her boyfriend. We spent a nice evening together and I was so grateful to sleep inside this dam cold night. Qaanaaq rolled together at my side and was a happy dog again. After a while nervous Santano calmed down and we all had a good night. THANK YOU, Christina!!!
Thursday, 6th July, Day 14: Niemisil – Åskogen
This was the perfect day for hiking: sunny, but windy, all in a good mood, cars were breaking down… and it should become even better. In the afternoon I could not find the place, which I planned for the night, but I met Britt-Marie, who invited me to stay overnight. She has two horses and Santano can be on a field. Britt-Marie prepared mose meat balls, which were very delicious and I could not stop eating. I spent the best night in a tent ever thanks to fresh laundry and a real mattress.
Friday, 7th July, Day 15: Åskogen
Today we take a time out and relax at Britt-Maries place. Santano rests at the field, Qaanaaq sleeps in the shadow and I spend a great day with Britt-Marie in the city of Boden. I bye a new trousers, better dog food for Qaanaaq, who is a little too skin, and we enjoy a cup of coffee and a piece of cake before we go back home. Home – that is how I feel here, warmly welcome by Britt-Marie and her husband. THANK YOU both so much!!!

Lucky day
Thursday, 29th June, Day 7: Ohtanajärvi - Vinsa
I am writing this post in English again. Guess, why ^^ But letˋs start from the beginning...
I start at Lillemorˋs small paradise at 7 hrs in the morning. I slept so good and we spent a very nice last evening together with the kids and the animals, watching Junas stunt show with the Quad and playing Yazey with Nelly. I felt so welcome at this place that it is hard to leave, but the road is waiting ^^
After passing Korpilombolo I can turn around a page of my map. WHAT a great moment ... and then it is gone.
We do a lot of breaks today due to my swollen knee, but walking is better than expected. My hips are fine today and I guess my friend Luca was right, when he said: "You can only really enjoy that everything is fine, when somethng was hurting before" ^^
We spend the lunch break at Finnijoki, a really nice place to be.
So kilometers and kilometers pass by - without an oppurtunity to sleep. Also the traffic is a lot more than two days ago. After 28 kilometers we reach Vinsa and met Roger in his garden. We talk and he offers that we can stay overnight - oh happy day!!! Santano sleeps in his reindeer barn and Qaanaaq and me in the tent. Roger needs to go to the city and takes me for shopping. And then he helps me with my (never ending) hopefully now ended tent-problem, because Steven and Benkkuˋs sticks unfortunately doesnˋt fit. Santano discovers an open part of the fence and goes for a small walk in the village, but the neighbour finds him and calls. In the end, everything is fine: The tent is built up, Santano is back, I have a shower and a warm dinner ... and Dad will envy me for a piece osf smoked Reindeer ^^
... and now you know the reason, why this post is written in English again. THANK YOU, ROGER!!!
